The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) celebrated the 57th ASEAN Month with the theme “Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience” at the SPAMAST Auditorium in Malita, Davao Occidental on August 28, 2024 . The event was organized by the Office of International Affairs and Linkages under the leadership of its Director, Dr. Ariel E. San Jose, brought together faculty members and selected students for a day of engaging activities and competitions.
SPAMAST President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia graced the event with her presence, delivering an inspirational message that underscored the significance of international collaborations among faculty members. She emphasized how such partnerships can enhance the institution’s educational offerings and contribute to the global competitiveness of SPAMAST.
The celebration started with “Picture Bee,” a quiz bee featuring images that saw enthusiastic participation from various institutes from students and faculty members. The Institute of Human Service emerged victorious in this competition, showcasing their knowledge and quick thinking.
Another event highlight was the ASEAN Promotional Video competition, where the Institute of Teacher Education and Information Technology (ITEIT) secured the top spot with its creative and informative entry. The event also featured a Best in ASEAN Attire competition, where faculty members Mr. Dandy Dalina and Ms. Dalina of ITEIT were recognized for their outstanding traditional outfits, reflecting the rich cultural diversity of the ASEAN region.
The celebration of ASEAN Month at SPAMAST provided a platform for participants to deepen their understanding of ASEAN’s values while promoting cultural exchange and unity. Through events like this, SPAMAST continues to foster a spirit of international cooperation and connectivity among its community members.
