In line with the Memorandum of Understanding for Educational and Scientific Cooperation between the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) and the University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao, a key event was held on September 6, 2024, at the SPAMAST General Chemistry Laboratory in Malita, Davao Occidental. The event was organized by the Gamified Taxonomy (GTA) Laboratory Project of UP Mindanao, which aims to enhance the learning of scientific taxonomy through an innovative mobile application.
The UP Mindanao project developers visited SPAMAST to conduct the BETA Testing, showcasing the educational potential of the GTA Laboratory mobile app. The tool uses gamification to engage students in the study of scientific classification, providing a dynamic approach to learning.
SPAMAST warmly received the UP Mindanao team, with Dr. Marlyn B. Llameg, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Grace D. Buencillo, Director for Research, along with faculty members and students from the Fisheries and Information Technology departments attending the event.
The collaboration highlights the growing partnership between SPAMAST and UP Mindanao, aimed at advancing educational tools and scientific cooperation for the benefit of students and researchers alike.
