Prof. Elizabeth Joy S. Quijano Attends 2024 YSEALI Regional Workshop on Sustainable and Cultural Tourism

𝗬𝗼𝗴𝘆𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮, 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 – Prof. Elizabeth Joy S. Quijano, Assistant Professor at the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) and the Program Head of the Department of Development Communication, recently took part in the 2024 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Regional Workshop. The event, focused on “Sustainable and Cultural Tourism,” was held from August 19 to 22, 2024, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The YSEALI Regional Workshop brought together emerging leaders from across Southeast Asia to discuss and develop strategies for promoting sustainable and culturally responsible tourism in the region. With tourism being a key economic driver in many Southeast Asian countries, the workshop aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to balance economic growth with environmental conservation and cultural preservation.

Prof. Quijano’s participation highlights SPAMAST’s commitment to engaging with international initiatives that foster leadership and sustainability. Her involvement in this prestigious event not only enhances her professional growth but also positions SPAMAST as an institution actively contributing to regional discourse on sustainable development.
