Harvesting Success: SPAMAST Celebrates Agriculture Day and Licensure Achievements

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) marked a momentous occasion with the celebration of Agriculture Day and the Recognition of Agriculture Licensure Examination Passers 2024. The event took place on December 11, 2024, at the SPAMAST Buhangin Annex, Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Development Communication (IASDC), Malita, Davao Occidental.

The celebration began with a solemn holy mass, uniting the SPAMAST community in thanksgiving and reflection for the achievements of the institution and its graduates.

Highlighting the ceremony was the inspiring keynote address delivered by Jason O. Gica, L.Agr., MSc, a proud alumnus of SPAMAST’s Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT) program, Batch 2019. Gica, a SIARCA Scholar, recently earned his Master of Science in Agriculture from the prestigious National Taiwan University (NTU) in 2024.

The institution proudly recognized its recent Agriculture Licensure Examination passers: Jzeyah Carlon-Camañan and Wenboy S. Espina, whose hard work and dedication brought honor to the college. SPAMAST achieved a first-time takers’ passing rate of 50%, and an institutional passing rate of 40%, compared to the national passing rate of 50.78%.

Dr. Elenito P. Bugawisan, Dean of the IASDC, led the event alongside the faculty and staff of the institute. The gathering served as a platform to honor the achievements of the passers while encouraging students and faculty to continue pursuing excellence in agriculture.
