The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Davao Region, in partnership with the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), successfully held a three-day Training on Coconut Production and Farming Systems from November 27 to 29, 2024.
The event, hosted and facilitated by ATI Davao Region, was conducted at the SPAMAST campus in Malita, Davao Occidental with the assistance of the Extension Services Office, headed by Prof. Kher Dave Doños. This collaborative effort aimed to provide farmers and agricultural practitioners with updated knowledge and techniques on sustainable coconut farming systems.
Key resource persons for the training were Ms. Angela Jo Jocoy and Mr. Franz Jeemson Tan, both registered agriculturists and valued employees of SPAMAST’s Extension Services Office. Their sessions covered essential topics such as advanced coconut farming practices, pest and disease management, and methods to enhance farm productivity and sustainability.
Participants expressed gratitude for the training, emphasizing its relevance in improving agricultural practices. The program highlighted the strong partnership between ATI Davao Region and SPAMAST in advancing agrarian education and empowering communities in Davao Occidental.
