The Extension Services Office (ESO) successfully conducted a two-day Training on Delivery System for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) on March 27-28, 2025 at SPAMAST AVR, Malita Campus. This event, facilitated by ESO, marked the launch of its flagship program TUDLO – Technology Updating and Capacity Development for Local Employees and Officers Program. The training aimed to enhance the competencies of AEWs by equipping them with effective strategies and tools for delivering extension services to their respective communities. Through this initiative, ESO reaffirms its commitment to empowering local extension workers with updated knowledge and methodologies that align with the evolving needs of the agricultural and fisheries sector.
The training featured resource speakers who shared valuable insights and expertise in extension service delivery. On Day 1, Mr. Dexter Neil Guden, Extension Coordinator, provided an in-depth discussion on modern extension methodologies and their applications in agricultural development. He emphasized the importance of participatory approaches and the role of AEWs in bridging the gap between research and field implementation. On Day 2, Mr. Kher Dave H. Doños, Extension Director, delved into innovative strategies for technology dissemination and stakeholder engagement to enhance outreach and efficiency. The interactive sessions, coupled with practical exercises, enriched the learning experience of the participants, enabling them to apply new techniques in their respective roles.
The success of this pioneering training would not have been possible without the unwavering support and dedication of the ESO staff, who played a crucial role in organizing and facilitating the event. Their commitment to advancing capacity-building initiatives highlights the institution’s drive to strengthen extension services at the local level. As the first training under the TUDLO program, this event sets the stage for future initiatives aimed at upskilling local employees and officers. With the positive response from participants, ESO looks forward to conducting more comprehensive training programs that will further contribute to the development of sustainable agricultural practices and extension service excellence.
