Dr. Lynette Bontia Honored with DOST Recognition During RSTW Culmination

In a moment of pride and distinction, Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, representing the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), was honored with a Certificate of Recognition from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) XI during the culmination program of the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) held at the SPAMAST Auditorium in Malita, Davao Occidental on September 4, 2025. The award underscored SPAMAST’s invaluable partnership with DOST XI in advancing science, engineering, technology, and innovation (SETI) initiatives across the region.

The recognition highlighted SPAMAST’s commitment, under Dr. Bontia’s leadership, to the implementation of groundbreaking programs and collaborative projects aimed at strengthening the role of science and technology in nation-building. With the theme, “Siyensa, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan” and the subtheme “Building Smart and Sustainable Communities,” this year’s RSTW served as a platform to celebrate impactful partnerships that drive progress in education, research, and community development.

Provincial S&T Director Maria Victoria I. Dado, who signed the certificate, emphasized the significance of fostering institutional collaborations that translate knowledge into concrete solutions for communities.
