The SPAMAST President, Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, attended the 24th Regular Committee Meeting held today, January 22, 2024, at 10:00 am at the House of Representative Complex in Quezon City, Manila.
This meeting discussed the initial deliberation of the Bills on State Universities and Colleges, which includes House Bill No. 9023, “An Act Converting the Southern Philippines Agri-Business, and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology in the Municipality of Malita, Province of Davao Occidental, into a State University and Appropriating Funds Therefor” by Congressman Claude P. Bautista.
As a representative of Congressman Claude, the Dumper-partylist representative, Congresswoman Claudine Diana D. Bautista-Lim attended and presented the House Bill on the conversion of SPAMAST into a state university.
Among the other SUC Presidents who attended the 24th regular committee session were the Presidents of Community College of Gingoog City, Pangasinan State University, Don Honorio Ventura State University System, and Davao del Norte State University.
With the support and initiative of the local leaders for SPAMAST, the college has committed to achieving quality standards as well as providing transformative education to society by aiming to reach university status.
