The Department of Energy (DOE) conducted an official Energy Audit at the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) on September 11, 2025, at its Malita, Davao Occidental campus.
Authorized personnel from DOE Manila spearheaded the activity, which included an opening meeting and an ocular inspection of the institution’s facilities. The audit aimed to assess SPAMAST’s adherence to Republic Act No. 11285, also known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act, and its implementing guidelines.
Following the comprehensive evaluation, SPAMAST was found to be fully compliant with RA 11285 as stipulated under OP Memorandum Circular No. 2, s. 2024.
This accomplishment highlights the institution’s commitment to sustainable practices and responsible energy management, reinforcing its role as a model for efficiency and conservation in the higher education sector.
