Malita, Davao Occidental — The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) hosted the AACCUP Accreditation Virtual Survey Visit Exit Conference for the Master of Science in Fisheries (MSF) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology (BSMB) programs at the SPAMAST Lecture Hall on July 4, 2024.
The conference commenced with a message from Dr. Cecilio L. Manarpaac, the Over-all Coordinator of the AACCUP Accreditors Team. Dr. Manarpaac expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the SPAMAST team, particularly recognizing the efforts of Quality Assurance Office, headed by Dr. Jovelyn L. Franca, for organizing and facilitating the visit, and to the Program Heads, along with all the area leaders for the two programs. He shared his observations and suggestions for achieving program compliance. Although the results of the accreditation were not presented, Dr. Manarpaac assured that the AACCUP team is aligned with SPAMAST’s mission to achieve new heights in academic excellence and quality instruction.
Dr. Edelyn S. Albiso, Vice-President for Administration and Finance, represented the SPAMAST President and expressed the college’s commitment to prioritizing the recommendations provided by the accreditors. She highlighted the importance of the accreditation visit as an opportunity for the institution to be evaluated and improve its services for students, stakeholders, and the community. Dr. Albiso reaffirmed SPAMAST’s dedication to continuously enhancing its instructional delivery, program offerings, and overall goals.
In his closing remarks, OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Pedro M. Avenido, extended his gratitude and appreciation to everyone who contributed significantly to the accreditation visit. He expressed optimism that all necessary deliverables would be achieved.
The exit conference marks a significant step for SPAMAST as it seeks to elevate the quality and standards of its academic programs in alignment with the AACCUP accreditation process.
